110% Increase in Iran Bi-fuel Car Production

Producing 103,248 units of different types of bi-fuel passenger cars and pickups, Iran experienced 110.3 percent increase in this field in the first quarter of Iranian calendar year (March 21 to June 21, 2010).

Likewise, in the third month of the current Iranian calendar year (May 21-June 21), 47,592 units of various bi-fuel passenger cars and pick-ups were produced in Iran, which shows an increase of 95.6 percent over the same period last year.
With an increase of 233 percent, Iran Khodro Industrial Group's bi-fuel products ran up to 65,629 units in the first quarter. IKCO manufactured 27,281 units of bi-fuels from May 21 to June 21, 183 percent more than the same period last year.
SAIPA, Iran's second car manufacturer, produced 23,720 units of bi-fuel cars over the same three month period that shows 48.8 percent of increase.
Pars Khodro, another Iranian carmaker, made 11,011 units, 195 percent more than the same period last year; While Zamyad produced 2,279 bi-fuel pickups that shows a drop of 74.8 percent.
